Paul Leithart II
Paul Leithart’s areas of practice include civil litigation and trials, estate planning, probate, and commercial real estate including sales, refinances, like-kind exchanges and leases. His litigation experience includes business litigation, real estate disputes, landlord-tenant matters, insurance contract issues, bodily injury cases, employer-employee disputes, and probate litigation.
He has lectured at continuing education seminars involving landlord-tenant issues and legal ethics.
Mr. Leithart is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts, the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His experience includes representing clients in the Franklin County, Ohio Probate, Municipal, and Common Pleas Courts, the Ohio Court of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court. Mr. Leithart has represented clients in matters which were brought before the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Leithart was named as a Top Lawyer in the Fall 2024 issue of Columbus CEO for his expertise in Commercial Litigation. He is a member of the Columbus Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. He is currently a member of the Common Pleas, Real Estate and Probate Committees of the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Leithart also served on the Ethics Committee of the Columbus Bar Association from 2007-2011. He is a member of the Federalist Society.
Mr. Leithart previously served as the Director of Public Safety and the Civil Service Commission for the City of Gahanna. He was also the campaign treasurer for a former Gahanna mayor and member of the Ohio House of Representatives.
He is also the managing member of a family real estate company which invests in residential rental properties.
Mr. Leithart began practicing law in 1981 and joined the law firm in 1983. Since 1988, he has been an officer and shareholder. Mr. Leithart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in 1977, and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Capital University Law School in 1981.
He has been married since 1979 to Denise Leithart, a dance instructor at Judy Dollenmayer School of Dance. He has four children and nine grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, sports, golfing, and spending time at his grandchildren’s sports and dance events.
