John William Hoppers

        Mr. Hoppers, a principal of the firm, earned a bachelor of arts degree from West Liberty College in 1962 and received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1968 from The Ohio State University College of Law.  He joined the firm's predecessor partnership in 1967 while still a student at The Ohio State University.

    Mr. Hoppers' practice concentration is in planning and execution of business transactions, organization of professional practices and other business transactional matters.  He also works extensively in estate planning, probate matters and state receivership law.  He has served as hearing officer for the Ohio State Dental Board, the Ohio State Medical Board and has lectured at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and The Capital University College of Law.

    Mr. Hoppers is a member of The Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and The American Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the Courts of Ohio, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Supreme Court.

    Community involvements include service as Trustee of Maple Grove United Methodist Church, Wesley Glen Retirement Center and Humboldt Lodge F. & A.M.  Mr. Hoppers also serves as a member of the Columbus Bar Association Professional Ethics and Grievance Committee.  Mr. Hoppers is a member of the Ohio ESGR organization (Employer Support of Guard and Reserves) and serves as the State Ombudsman Chair, directing activities to resolve problems between U.S. servicemen and their employers.  He is also a member of Columbus Downtown Rotary.
